The Leather Fitted Casket

Handcrafted in the United States, the House of Staunton Leather Fitted Casket provides the ultimate level of both protection and beauty to any House of Staunton-brand Chess Set. The Fitted Casket provides of the Chessmen their own individual compartments, allowing them to be safely stored or transported without worry about the pieces being damaged. Once the Chessmen are placed inside the Fitted Casket and the lid securely closed, the pieces will literally be "entombed" inside this well padded Chess box. It is as beautiful as it is functional.

It is crafted from the finest English leather and is an accurate reproduction of the Jaques of London Leather Caskets (circa 1850), the rarest and most desirable Chess boxes ever produced. The Fitted Casket features "The Staunton Chessmen" in gilt on the lid, "The House of Staunton" in gilt on the front, and 2 simulated Gothic handles in gilt of each of the sides.
